2012 – It could see the last issue of the magazine ever…

On December 21st 2012 the Mayan calendar comes to an end. Prophets of the apocalypse think this signals the end of the world, but satirists think the Maya are just planning a huge New Year’s Eve party. Scientists, on the other hand, are predicting that the glaciers and ice caps will melt whereas financial experts think the euro countries’ currency reserves will do likewise.

2012 marks the start of a massive thought experiment: what would happen if humanity knew that we really did only have one year left to live? Would we refuse to believe it and thus fail to live out our downfall? Or would we try to fundamentally change our lives and improve the world in the hope of salvation? Where is the future taking us? This is the question the year 2012 is asking us and the year 2012 has already given us an answer: after December 21st 2012, the world will never be the same again.
